In a much-anticipated update, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has reaffirmed that *Grand Theft Auto VI* is slated for a release in the fall of 2025. The announcement was made during the company’s most recent earnings call, signaling significant progress on one of the most awaited video games of the decade.
Karl Slatoff, Take-Two’s President, highlighted the excitement during the call: “Looking ahead, we expect fiscal 2026 to be a milestone year as we plan to release several blockbuster titles, including Rockstar Games’ *Grand Theft Auto VI* in fall 2025, *Borderlands 4*, and *Mafia: The Old Country*.” This confirms that the gaming giant is gearing up for a massive year, packed with major releases set to draw in millions of players worldwide.
The last installment in the franchise, *GTA V*, which came out in 2013, continues to be one of the best-selling games in history with over 200 million copies sold. Fans have been eagerly awaiting a new chapter, especially since *GTA VI* was first confirmed by Rockstar back in early 2022. However, anticipation hit fever pitch when gameplay footage was leaked later that year.
After months of speculation, Rockstar finally unveiled an official trailer for *GTA VI* in December 2023, sending the gaming community into a frenzy. While details remain scarce, the game is expected to push the boundaries of open-world gameplay, building on the legacy of its predecessors.
With the release now confirmed for 2025, fans can start marking their calendars for what’s likely to be a game that defines the next generation of gaming.
