Exclusive Interview with Manuel Aragon: Transforming Communities Through Financial Literacy

Interviewer: Manuel, thank you for taking the time to speak with us. Your work in tax services and financial literacy is truly inspiring. What initially drove you to enter the tax and finance industry?

Manuel Aragon: Thank you for having me. My introduction into the tax and finance industry was started to help friends and family and also by a deep love for numbers and problem-solving. Beyond that, I saw how financial literacy—or the lack of it—impacted families and entire communities. I realized that many people struggle with managing their finances simply because they lack the knowledge, and I wanted to change that. That’s what led me to expand Aragon Tax Return Services.

Interviewer: You emphasise financial literacy as a key to empowering communities. Why do you think it is so crucial today?

Manuel Aragon: Financial literacy is more than just understanding how to budget or file taxes. It’s about giving people control over their financial future. When individuals lack basic financial knowledge, they may make uninformed decisions that lead to long-term challenges—such as debt accumulation, missed tax deductions, or ineffective money management. By educating people, we position them to make smarter financial choices, which strengthens not just their personal finances but the entire community.

Interviewer: Tax season is often a stressful time for many. How do you and your team simplify the process?

Manuel Aragon: Absolutely, tax season can be overwhelming, especially with over 9,000 sections in the U.S. tax code. At Aragon Tax Return Services, we take a personalised approach to ensure our clients understand the process. We break down complex tax laws into simple, actionable steps, helping people maximise their returns while minimising their stress. Whether it’s through one-on-one consultations, workshops, or online resources, we make sure that tax knowledge is accessible to all. We have made things seamless and can all be done virtually allowing us to expand and offer services outside of the local community.

Interviewer: You’ve also been involved in community outreach programs. Can you tell us more about how you educate people beyond your client base?

Manuel Aragon: I believe in giving back through education. One of the most effective ways I do this is through educational blogs, which offer step-by-step guidance on tax preparation, financial planning, and goal setting. These blogs cover essential topics such as budgeting techniques, tax deductions, and avoiding financial pitfalls. We will eventually host workshops and collaborate with local organisations to provide hands-on financial education. The goal is to make financial literacy approachable and actionable for everyone.

Interviewer: What impact have you seen as a result of your educational efforts?

Manuel Aragon: The impact has been tremendous. People who once felt intimidated by taxes and financial planning now feel empowered to take control of their finances. I appreciate the feedback from clients that utilize the content and actually apply it to their lives. We’ve seen community members reduce debt, increase their savings, and gain confidence in managing their money. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness this impact and know that our efforts are making a tangible difference.

Interviewer: As someone who has dedicated their career to financial education, what advice would you give to those looking to improve their financial literacy?

Manuel Aragon: My biggest piece of advice is to start small and stay consistent. Learn the basics—budgeting, saving, and understanding your tax responsibilities. Nothing happens overnight, Take advantage of free resources, whether it’s online blogs, workshops, or community programs. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask questions. Financial literacy is a lifelong journey, and every step you take toward understanding money management will lead to a more secure future.

Interviewer: What’s next for you and Aragon Tax Return Services?

Manuel Aragon: We’re continuing to expand our outreach efforts and develop more accessible educational resources. We plan to introduce more online tools and workshops to reach even more people. My mission is to keep breaking down financial barriers and help communities thrive. As financial knowledge spreads, we’ll see a future where individuals and businesses alike can achieve greater economic security and opportunity. I want to share the knowledge I have gained in places that it isn’t offered regularly.

Interviewer: Thank you, Manuel, for sharing your journey and insights with us. Your dedication to financial literacy is truly making a difference.

Manuel Aragon: Thank you. It’s an honor to be part of this important conversation, and I look forward to continuing the work of helping individuals and communities through financial education.
