Balenciaga’s much-anticipated collaboration with Under Armour, referred to as a “series” by Demna, the brand’s creative director, has officially launched in its entirety. Accompanied by a visually captivating campaign, the collection was shot by photographer and videographer Joseph Kadow, capturing a blend of fashion and athleticism.
The campaign features models Léa and Gedeon in dynamic, slow-motion shots, showcasing pieces from the extensive collection. Many of these items had their initial debut at Balenciaga’s Spring 2025 runway in Shanghai this past May. This collaboration merges high-fashion aesthetics with Under Armour’s renowned functionality, resulting in a diverse range of ready-to-wear clothing, accessories, and footwear for both men and women.
Key Pieces in the Collection
Among the standout designs is the Under Armour Hoodie Bag, which ingeniously transforms a traditional zip-up hoodie into a chic shoulder bag, prominently displaying the dual branding of both companies. Additionally, the collection features reversible tracksuits, windbreakers, layered track pants, denim trousers, and cycling bodysuits. These pieces are emblematic of Balenciaga’s signature style while incorporating Under Armour’s sporty practicality. The line also showcases trompe-l’œil garments, such as crewnecks fused with sports bras or track pants designed to appear layered, which cleverly combine multiple elements into single, streamlined silhouettes.
Footwear & Accessories
For sneaker enthusiasts, the collection includes co-branded versions of Balenciaga’s popular models like the Runner, 3XL, and Hyper Sneaker. The jewelry selection offers bold choker necklaces, hoops, and stud earrings featuring turn-lock clasps inspired by the Under Armour logo. The entire range is a fusion of athletic performance gear with high-end fashion, catering to streetwear aficionados and collectors alike.
The Collaboration’s Evolution
Balenciaga first teased the collaboration in May, sparking curiosity by posting a teaser image of an “UA”-shaped earring on Instagram. This initial glimpse set off a wave of speculation about what the partnership would entail. During the subsequent Shanghai runway show, the collaboration was fully revealed, featuring an array of joint designs, including performance outerwear, workout tights, and logo-branded accessories.
Shortly after the show, Balenciaga released a limited drop of ready-to-wear pieces, including fleece shorts priced at $1,150 USD and sweatpants retailing for $1,290 USD. Now, months later, the entire collection is finally available for purchase on Balenciaga’s website. The price range varies significantly, from $150 USD for socks to $3,750 USD for the innovative hoodie bag.
This collaboration signifies an intriguing blend of high-fashion flair with Under Armour’s sportswear expertise. It brings together the best of both worlds, appealing to those who appreciate fashion that makes a statement while still being functional enough for an active lifestyle.
